C’est fini, Mademoiselle

Two French feminists groups ’Les Chiennes de Garde’ (Guard Bitches or Guard Whores, depending on your demeanor) and Osez le Feminisme’ (Dare feminism) have called for cultural change in France where the word ‘mademoiselle’ is abolished from the lexicon.

I personally love the sound and implication of “Mademoiselle”. Whenever someone uses it, I feel, well, young and I appreciate that. I will miss mademoiselle, the prettiest French word. It all comes down to the importance of words.

Who cares if I’m young, old, attractive, unattractive, married, shacking up or alone? If they care that much, they’ll just have to get to know me.
